Author's note - this line represents another departure from my more usual "territory" of Lancashire and Yorkshire. Beyond the purchase of birth, marriage and death certificates and the study of the England census records 1841 - 1901, most of the research for this family line was done at the Norfolk County Record Office, adjacent to Norfolk County Hall in Norwich. Whilst all of the many county record offices that we have visited to research this website are excellent in offering free access to materials that are often priceless, that at Norwich really does score top marks from a "consumer's" point of view - the facility really is excellent.
