Wilson was born in 1858. He was called "Wilson" from his maternal grandmother's maiden name and "Paley" from his own mother's maiden name.He married Ann Hodson in Burnley in 1881. They had two sons - George William and Charles Hodson Spencer.
Wilson was a boot and shoe maker in Bright St., Padiham, Lancashire in 1881 but later became a warehouseman in Burnley and then a herbalist's traveller by 1901.
Wilson died in 1919 but administration was not granted until 1931. His address was given as 1 Rook St., Nelson. The value of his estate was given as £118-10-0.
George married Florence Ellen Berry in Blackburn in 1906.They had a daughter Elizabeth Annie May in 1908 in Burnley.
Charles married Margaret Ann Harrison in 1911 at St. Stephen's church in Burnley.
